Two members of our lab successfully defended their theses as follow:

Sungjae Hong (May, 2018)  "An Exploratory Study of E-government Service Adoption in the Aging Population"
Jung-Min Woo (June, 2018)  "WHO Age Friendly Cities and Communities: The Korean Experience" 

Prof. Choi has been named as "Ewon Assistant Professor!"

Prof. Choi Received the College Research Innovation Award!

Prof. Choi received the College Research Innovation Award for the year of 2017!   KAIST College of Liberal Arts & Convergence Science introduced "Research Innovation Awards," which were given to a few professors who published their research findings in top journals.  

Tae Kyung's Graduation and New Position

Our esteemed member, Tae Kyung walked at the commencement ceremony last February.  She has been selected as a full-time researcher at STEPI and starts her new position on May 1st.  Congratulations!

Prof. Choi's photo work has been selected for the cover image of the December issue of The Gerontologist.  She is thrilled that the photo has contributed to the diversity in the representation of the aging population.

Tae Kyung's Defense of Her Master's Thesis

Tae Kyung successfully defended her master's thesis entitled, "Older Adults' Perspectives on Personal and Health Information Sharing in Relation to the Adoption of Healthcare Technology" on October 19th, 2017 and presented the findings at  the 2017 Annual Fall Conference of the Korean Association for Information Society (한국정보사회학회 추계학술대회) on November 17.  Congratulations, Tae Kyung!

Prof. Choi and Tae Kyung gave a presentation entitled, "Factors influencing older adults’ willingness to share their information in data-based health care innovation" at the International Conference on Data-Driven Health Care organized by Ewha Institute for Biomedical Law & Ethics and Korea Health Industry Development Institute in Seoul on September 23rd, 2017.

"Technopolis for All Ages" at Daejeon Global Innovation Forum

A special session on "Technopolis for All Ages" was organized by Prof. Choi at the Global Innovation Forum with the partnership of Daejeon Metropolitan City--leading the World Technopolis Association, and UNESCO on Wednesday, September 13.  To see the details, visit at GIF Program.

A livable city for all ages considering the human lifecycle is the main theme of the Thematic Special Session A. At the Session, we are going to share cases and discuss on strategies of the urban planning and health and welfare services in consideration of the features of Technopolises. The session is going to provide introduction to the cases and discussion on the model of Global Network of Age-friendly Cities initiated by the World Health Organization(WHO), the living lab project “Walk-friendly City Seoul”, and social innovation in Silicon Valley.
